Avril has spent her entire career working in a variety of roles in special education in public school systems; first, as a one-to-one paraprofessional at the William H. Lincoln School in the Brookline Public Schools (1 year), then as the lead special education teacher in a substantially separate classroom for students with multiple severe disabilities in grades 3-8 (7 years) in Brookline, transitioning to the Boston Public School district as a Coordinator of Special Education (team facilitator) (1 year), then serving as a Strand Specialist for the Inclusion - Vision (substantially separate) - Multiple Disabilities classrooms at the Richard J. Murphy School (2 years), serving as a Inclusive Practices Support Specialist across Roxbury & Dorchester for Boston Public Schools (4 years), and currently servies as an Instructional Coach at one of Boston’s public day schools, Melvin H. King South End Academy (presently in her 3rd year).
Avril’s brings her wealth of experience as a special educator and coach to her work with families and guardians to ensure that every child receives the services and interventions that they deserve.
